Where can I place page numbers?
You can place numbers at the top or bottom of each page, aligned to the left, center, or right. Six positions in total.
Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set the starting number to any value. This is useful when your PDF is part of a larger document.
Can I skip the first few pages — like a cover or title?
No. Numbering always begins on page one and every page in the file gets a number; the only control over the sequence is the starting number. To leave a cover unnumbered, split it off with Split PDF, number the rest, then merge the two files back together.
Can I change the font or size, or use 'Page X of Y'?
No — the numbers are plain numerals set in 10-point Helvetica, and the only controls are the position and the starting number. There is no format template, Roman numeral, or 'X of Y' option.
Will the numbers overlap a header or footer my document already has?
They can. Each number is drawn on top of the existing page content — about 20 points up from the bottom edge (or 30 down from the top) and 40 points in from the sides — so if your document already prints something in that spot, the two will collide. Pick one of the other five positions in that case.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
