About Split PDF
Need specific pages from a large PDF? Whether you need to extract a single chapter from a textbook, pull out a signature page from a contract, isolate specific slides from a presentation PDF, or separate a multi-page scan into individual documents, this tool handles it with ease. Upload your PDF file and you will see thumbnail previews of every page. Click individual pages to select them, or type a page range using flexible syntax like 1-3, 5, 8-10 to select multiple ranges at once. The selected pages are extracted into a new PDF that you can download instantly, preserving the original formatting, fonts, and quality. This is especially useful for students extracting relevant chapters for study, professionals pulling specific pages for a client, and anyone who needs to share only part of a larger document.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I specify which pages to extract?
Click individual page thumbnails to select them, or type a range like '1-3, 5, 8-10' in the text input. Selected pages are extracted into a new PDF.
Can I split a PDF into individual pages?
Yes. Select all pages and each will be included. For truly separate files per page, you can run the tool multiple times or select one page at a time.
Are bookmarks and metadata preserved?
Document-level metadata (title, author) is preserved. Bookmarks that point to extracted pages are kept; bookmarks pointing to discarded pages are dropped automatically since their targets no longer exist.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Transmute processes everything locally in your browser using JavaScript and the Canvas API. Your files never leave your device — there is no server, no upload, no cloud processing.
